Providing Practical Learning Experiences An internship with Therapeutic Recreation Services (TRS) is a unique opportunity for a student majoring in therapeutic recreation to receive a practical learning experience in the development and implementation of therapeutic recreation practices in a community-based recreation setting.
About the Internship
Internships are supervised by a certified therapeutic recreation specialist, in accordance with the National Council of Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) regulations. Students qualify to take the NCTRC exam upon completion of all requirements. Internships encompass the delivery of therapeutic recreation services in one or more roles according to the requirements outlined in the NCTRC job tasks and knowledge areas. This is no compensation for this internship.
